Can anyone give Nellie a home? Yes, Now Sold!

:( This is a sad moment but I have to reduce my fleet by a further one car. The Range Rover has already gone, prompted by an unfavourable pre-MOT check. So, now the Daf is in the dance-off. I don't want to just put her on flea bay and I certainly won't go the scr*pp*ge route but if there's a club member who can use her in the manner to which she has become accustomed, I won't be asking silly money. Nellie co-starred in the mag this month and is identifiable by her white stripes (only vinyl so removable). She also benefits (as they say) from remote locking but otherwise is just a working but not pristine Daf 33. Everything does work and she should have 12months MOT shortly. She took me and George to Devon and back earlier in the year.
Anyway, if anyone can offer her a home, reply to the thread or pm me.

I made enquiries on behalf of a friend and sadly she is not the one for him.

Absolutely no reflection on Nellie's condition and the price being asked is certainly fair. Unfortunately with the transportation costs it falls outside of my friends fiscal reach.

Please somebody here buy her as she seems in good condition and it would be nice to keep her in the family.

That, unfortunately, is also my problem. Shipping cost to the States have gone over the top and have not come down at all.

That's our blessing! You could always ship yourself over instead of the cars ;)

Next time you're 'forced' to take a holiday John, instead of the hardships you faced spending most of your time in your workshop you could always have a busman's holiday travelling the UK!! ;)

Then again, I hear house swap holidays are gaining popularity - I'm sure that there are plenty here who would volunteer and I'm sure your workshop would be well looked after. Now, everyone form an orderly queue - when's your next holiday due John?!! ;D

Where are you situated ? Will Nellie be provided with the new MOT, and is it Road Tax Exempt ?

I too have been looking for a DAF 33 for some months. My Austin A55 Mk 1 needs some welding so I thought I would try out the wonders of variomatic transmission for a few months while I do the work. e-mail me at primaveppy@yahoo.com if the car is still available. What price are you asking?

Happy to give Nellie a good home. We had a 44 some years ago in lovely '72 fawn with black velvetine interior. Have been a bit smitten by 'DAF'odils ever since! Remember picking her up in 1978 and her nickname was Lucy. Anyway, I digress, if Nellie is in good order, I'm happy to give her a good home and look after her. Best regards, Mark Jefferson (Southampton).

Hi Mark (and everyone else), Nellie failed her MOT today on a ball joint. I can't see anything wrong with it but Mr MOT must have a bigger screwdriver. Should be sorted by next weekend c/o the evr useful Danny. Mark, if you send me an email to gazing(at)blueyonder(dot)co(dot)uk, I'll give you more details.
