Sadly, Crown Motors is a Honda dealership now. I know that road well, it is where I take the Amica daily car for it's servicing. Absolutely lovely bit of history you have there.

I discovered a card with " The British Numismatic Society " 1963 that says Miss Belamy was on the commitee AND has a B.A. ! The longest single trip ever undertaken by LLB , requiring A.A. maps.......was......Enfield to Peterborough ! 59 miles there....and a seperate map home ....87 miles ! I also have a new/unese AA sticker ! a 1966 + 1968 European Dealers network booklet ( handy on those long trips to Peterborough...

This little Daf appears to have lived in north London/Enfield area for many years, at precisely the same time as I was living in Palmers Green/Southgate area. I had a Daf 66 then, followed by a 33. I would have noticed a fellow Daffer running about, but I didn't see this one-pity!

Hi Andrew , thats probably because...well , see this ; using the MOT`s ive made a " mile`s traveled - per year " list .... 30/8/66 (new) -04/70=3383 71+4502=1119 72+5373=871 73+6371=998 74+7179=808 75+7831=652 76+8455=624 77+9008=553 78+9555=547 79+9984=429 80+81+10527=543 ( not used 9mths ) 82+10917=390 + 1st mot failure - winscreen washer jet missing ! 83+11200=229 84+(not used 11mths .) 85+11694=494 86+11847=153 87+12027=180 88+12269=242 89+12583=314 90+12837=254 91+13156=319 92+13372=216 93+13577=205 95+13658=81 96+13753=98 97+13959=206 98+14086=127 99+14246=160 2000+14349=103 2001+14470=121 2001+2011=5.....

Yes, I've created a new section for "DAF literature" etc.
Much of this material has/will appear in the magazine at some point too. But it's always fascinating to see such material - and those tax discs are an amazing collection.
Not sure whether to move this lot into it, because it's all combined with the restoration posts, and it's not possible to split messages within a thread into a new section thing.
Or if it is, I've not worked out how to. But any new material might want to be placed into the new category.
As you know, I have a bit of a thing about categories, classifications etc, the idea being that people can easily find the sort of information they are looking for swiftly.

Ive moved all the articles that are non-specific to LLB. into the new "DAF literature" section for fellow Daffer`s to enjoy .

Hello, I am located in New York and I have a one owner 1962 Daf Dafodil. The car was registered until 1966-67 only to be used to get around the grounds of a large brookville estate here on Long Island. The car had a FULL restoration to pebble beach/grenwich concours standard. I want to possibly sell the car because just sits in a collection and serves no purpose for me other than looking cute and making conversation. It is complete with all tools and factory workshop manuals bound in metal. If anyone can tell me the cars value or how to start a new thread post, I would appreciate it. Thank you, Jeremy van Bemmelen

Goodness me - looks super!
To start a new topic - which is what I suggest you do - simply go to the section that you want to put the message in. I.e. "Restoration projects" or "DAF discussion" or "Owners DAFS" (that might be the most appropriate one for now).
In the panel on the middle right hand side of the screen, you will see a little icon that says "Start new thread". Simply click on this, and a new blank section will open for you to complete.
It will ask you to put in a subject title, then you can type away to your heart's content. You seem OK putting pics on, but you can put more than one in a thread. Just type or paste in the link for the pic (as you have already done) then to put another pic, hit return a couple of times then paste or type in the link to pic 2, and so on.

It'll get there in the end, even at 6 hours a fortnight! Nice to see a clutch properly assembled first time round btw, but not so sure about the damage to the Caddy - how on earth did you break a casting like that???

Yes, agree with John. At least you're having a crack at it. Unlike me, I left Gavina in the garage for two years doing nothing...

That's looking really nice under those mats, Kev! I agree about the vario cover, can't imagine why they ever got rid of it on the 33s! Do you also have the nice wing-nut bolts for the seat fixings? That was another real revelation compared to the "studs with nuts" on Betty
