As there has been a few instances where people cannot get photos up onto the site here are a few tips, there was some info at some point but cant find it. firstly join a photo web host site, ie www.photobucket.com there are others but i find this one quite good. open an account then upload your pictures to it. quite easy to do. then open up another tab at the top of the screen if you are using a pc or lap toplog into your DOC account and open the thread you want to add the picture in.then click back to the other tabselect your photo or hover over it with the pointeryou should see image code or IMGthen you left click on IMG code text it will turn yellow and say Copied.return back to the other tabthen right click on the message and paste it to the forum, you will notice that there is now a img symbol is added to the front and rear of the link.click on the Preveiw link at the bottom of the screen to check that it has worked. finally post . good luck. if you find any of this hard to follow or still not sure please say so that i can add it to here

Excellent! Thanks Paul for doing this. Must have taken some doing!
Another fairly easy site to use to host pics on before linking them to here is Flikr, which is basically Yahoo. Similar instructions to Photobucket.

If I post the typage then the pic and then more typage it will send us all bonkers with many disjointed posts just like my fence after the storm. Can you help I want to be a n active member and not a lurker any more. Did I tell you I am excited about issabelle moving in yippee

Oh dear - sorry that the putting pics up is trying. I understand - and I'm supposed to know these things. But we have to remember that these software things are invariably written by clever young teccy geek types.
Your "account settings" shouldn't make a difference - any registered user can put pics on.
I have found that if Photobucket is not playing ball, try a similar service from Yahoo called Flickr.
But, you can now upload pics directly from a computer onto your messages anyway. This is one thing that seems to be "better" since Proboards changed things.
If you do a "reply" (as opposed to "quick reply") you should see some buttons with symbols and letters etc. One of them shows a pic with "sunglasses". Click on here and it should enable you to upload a pic from your documents/pics. I think.
And yes, I think you may have mentioned your excitement - which I can understand.

I had an email today from Photobucket, yes the people who suddenly stopped hosting 3rd party sharing of photo's. Sites like this relied heavily on pics of the subject matter and many topics became unreadable because of the disappearance of photo's.
If it is what it seems, the email said they have had a change of mind and are putting back the links to photo's. I myself took all my photo's off their site so they will not be done, but if other forum users have not there is a chance some of the threads will come back to life. Here's hoping !!

Hi, I use imgbb.com to post photos in this forum. You can just copy-and-paste the code provided by this site (after image upload) into the BBcode tab of your message, it will display the photos .

I find it easiest to add a pic from the computer's files using the "Add Attachment" in Reply, (not quick reply). It seems the simplest thing, and always works.

I find imgur.com a great free photo storage site - none of the photobucket issues and the images always post well on forum boards.

Thanks for pointing this out. I'd forgotten this was here.
The way I put pics on is to either create a new message, or if replying to an existing one, click on the "Quote" button, then delete the quoted text.
There is a button for "clicking a file/attachment". Click that and it then allows you to select file/photo from your computer.
Unfortunately the files have to be small in size, and you can only put three up on one thread (although I know some people seem to have got around this - hopefully they may be able to advise)
This is the one "drawback" of this Proboards system, but I don't know of any alternative, other than Fakebook, which is something I am doing my best to keep us away from for so many reasons.
Hope this is some help.
