Attachment DeletedI was browsing round some seventies photos of my area on Flickr and saw this from 1974 of one of the Lancaster Canal's Aqueducts - with a nice blue accessory. I've unceremoniously nicked this so if that's a problem just delete it Mr Webmeister Sir. I do rather like the pic though.

That's lovely. No need to worry about showing the pic here.
Sadly it appears that the 66 came to the end of the road in 1987. Still, I suppose 14 years isn't a bad run. I doubt that many new cars today will still be on the road in 14 years time.

14 was very good. I wonder who the big dealer in these parts was back then. I came across a website that let you look up car details from just the number plate without putting in a make as DVLA specifies. This was handy when I couldn't quite remember the last couple of numbers of my Grandparents last DAF. I then discovered as I went through the numbers was that they seemed to be allocated to a marque (or dealer I suppose) at around 15-20 numbers at a time. So a DAF dealer was given say KGN 760N to KGN 779N etc. From that I saw that be it DAFs, or Fords (below the numbers I was looking at) or BMW's (above) No car appeared to last much longer than 15-20 years. DAF's averaged about 12. My Grandparents last was born in '76 and lived until '87. Even then it wasn't a big problem as I've found out on here!
