I got the red and white one 2012,it came from the last Daf garage near Liverpool(Crosby Service Station)she was not started for about 25yrs so I had her resprayed and the engine sorted, also a new prop shaft, belts, tyres battery etc... The green Daf is my pride and joy.she is in mint condition with 9598 genuine miles on the clock.I also have all the paper work even the invoice when the first owner bought it..I have all the service/MOT/tax documents..she is going to be serviced on Monday ready for the winter sleep. My garage is full of everything Daf from posters, clocks, miniture Daf cars(a lot of them)....I am Daf car mad...lol

What a fabulous collection; thanks for sharing.
What will really complement your collection is a DAF 66 estate. I know where there is one that need a good home.

Sounds a nice idea, but the green Dafs gone for a service and he's saying the tyres are looking a bit perished...Think they will have to wait until next year now...

Hi, no real problem, undo the centre bolt on each rocker cover, lift them off, flick out the old rubber gasket[circular section] and push the new one into the groove in the rocker cover,I always put a smear of grease in the groove before the new seal, this keeps it in place as you feed the rocker covers down to the cylinder heads.Don't forget to clean the contact face before fitting and put a smear of grease on the two contact faces. You don't need any gasket cement, just the grease. Make sure you don't over tighten the centre bolt, this is very important because the rocker covers are aluminium and over tightening will easily distort them. Just tighten the bolt until you feel a need for slightly more pressure, then give the bolt a further quarter of a turn.If it leaks a touch more.Make sure you get the correct seals, from Danny I suspect, unless the club has some...............starider

Hi Martyn, you mention trying the club for "one", only a suggestion, but it maybe a good idea to replace both?.......starider [Tony].

Hi Everyone, Hope you are all enjoying Daffing around in this lovely weather,I am back in the UK now after 4 months in Spain. My Daf 33s started up pretty good after so long. I am moving to the midlands near the Vale of Belvoir and wondered if there is any Daf owners/classic shows etc near me? Regards Martyn.

Hello,
Good to read that the 33s started up well.
I don't know whether you are a member of the club or not. If you are, you will see from the contacts page of the magazine, that I am just over the border on the Notts side of the Vale of Belvoir.
We also have quite a few members in Notts/Derbys - indeed that is where the club was started and is still based. (Obviously members are all over the country)
Small world.
I'm not sure of any specific local car shows though, but that said, I think there is a yearly event in Melton Mowbray town centre.

Good idea - it was a couple of weeks ago at the castle.
One of our members attended with his 44!
Hopefully there might be a report in the next mag.

I have one! which part do you need; the long part under the car or the short part at the rear? Will you be at Princethorpe? If so, I can bring it along.

Martyn,
I've just dug out the rear pipe and put it in the back of my 33. I'll speak to Graham and hand it to him to pass on for you.
Duly passed on at Princethorpe. £10 OK?
