The wings are welded on, not a massive job to an old school body repair shop..... you drill out the spot welds and the wing pops off. The DAF weld areas are accessible. You can get wings, I managed to find 4 front wings for mine. It will be interesting to see what the insurers decide, although I have known DAF's repaired on a number of occasions.
I thought getting old would take much longer than it did.

Sorry to read of your difficulties.
Another thought re front wings is to go a bit "left field"...
By that, I mean brand new fibreglass ones.
Many years ago, I know one or two members got replacement ones from a company called Honeybourne Mouldings. I've just looked them up on the interweb, and they are still very much in business and still list DAF 66 front wings.
