Welcome to the DAF Owners Club discussion forums. These have been online since 2004 and are open to anyone - club member or not.
The DAF Owners Club has been the original and leading source of information about DAF Variomatic cars in the UK since 1980.
We are known throughout this country and abroad for providing accurate and relevant help and advice about DAFs and the Variomatic transmission.
We also provide new specialist spares including drive belts and filters and we supply to the UK and worldwide.
More information about DAFs and the club at the main website - www.dafownersclub.co.uk.
If anyone's hesitating as they're not sure of the venue, I can confirm it's a great pub, with great food! Last year the snow added to the scene and made it a particularly pretty scene. It's well worth making the effort to go, for some good Daf chat, beer and food!
The Subaru is in the garage having a major service, including a cam belt change, but it'll be fully functioning by Friday morning and we will drive up then, staying over on Friday and Saturday night, before driving back on Sunday. REALLY looking forward to meeting a goodly group of fellow Daffers! If anyone wants some bits & pieces, I have a huge load and am happy to rummage through them to see if I have them.
Snow and Subarus (& Dafs!).....FUN FUN FUN! Both have "boxer" engines and both have CVT transmissions ("Variomatic" in the Daf and "Lineartronic" in Subaru, but the principle is the same!)
Major Denis Bloodnok, Indian Army (RTD) Coward and Bar, currently residing in Barnet, Hertfordshire!
Is this still happening? Sadly if I manage to get there it will now be too late for lunch as I have to rush the dog to the vet tomorrow morning before leaving.
Yes still on. But you must make a realistic decision about the weather - especially if you are still based where I believe you are. Also, it is a lunch event, so people will start departing quite soon after lunch...
(We have had at least one apology from a loyal member who attends every year, because of snow his way)
I've got a poorly 4 year old so I'm afraid I won't be there. My apologies as I do feel bad as I live by far the closest but I can assure you all you don't want to be coughed sneezed and snotted on whilst eating!
