So, As requested, here's some photos of Chester (my wife is now christening the cars faster than I can)! As you can see, we've aquired a stylish 340 to add to the fleet, and we're now down to one 44, one Minor and one MZ. Slightly more reasonable... He's an '89 model with a mere 65k on the clock, and a full service history up until 50k when it appears he went to a new owner who kinda skipped the servicing...completely. Still, he runs well, drives fine, and is off to Volvo (yes, really) for a service the week after next. It's dead plush (by my standards) - and the faults list appears so far to be miraculously small - The hose to the heater's gone porous (the bit in the engine bay) and the control valve doesn't work. - The clock doesn't work (at least, not reliably; a feature which has been constant in every car I've owned with a clock). - Despite getting the wheels balanced there's a bit of unevenness/shudder in the car at speed, 'm wondering if the belts are in need of adjustement (probably). - The rear wash/wipe appears to currently only wipe, but I've not even investigated far enough to see if it's an empty tank or an actual fault. Still, it's for Kathryn to use when we get the 44 back (so I don't have to ride the bike every day), and then we'll see what happens when we get Rebecca back

He's not losing petrol, but does reak when you fill the tank right up. And dead plush he is. 3 speed fan, heated seats, it's quite decadent really The buying process was to bid the most I was willing to pay and pray. I looked at other auctions and decided the bloke wasn't a trader trying to shift some wreck, and just headed up there praying. Looks like he's good, but we'll find out what needs doing when he's up on ramps, eh. Drives okay though

The GL is very plush. Chester looks very nice. I don't know, what with my Bjorn (DL 3 door but I think the heats do heat up when the weather is sufficiently cold, and MacP's 340(s?), then we all appear to be progressing.
But hey, we love the DAFs! - and let's face it, despite what Volvo and others say, the 340 is a DAF! Just got a posh selector lever.

Well done Kate, it looks lovely and it's about time you had a reliable daily hack....plus it'll give you more time to work on your 44! ;D
