Does anyone have the SKF (or similar) part number for a Daf 33 rear wheel bearing and seal? Isabel has about an inch of play at the tyre which I'm not happy with (I know, I'm too fussy ) but I'd rather order the new one before stripping it so at least she can sit on her wheels while I wait for the post. This is a little urgent if she's going to get that MOT anytime soon

Do you know the dimensions of the bearing? And what type it is? Ball Single Race I'd imagine it would be but you never know.
If so I can probably tell you.

It's a single deep-groove ball bearing but I don't know the measurements until I dismantle it - at which point she's sitting on an axle stand at the road-side until the new one arrives in the post (and the weather's suitable to fit it). I simply refuse to use the only bearing supplier round here who charged £16 for an unbranded 6204ZZ which I could have got for £1.70 by post. I'm all for supporting local suppliers but that's taking the mickey! That's likely to start annoying people - plus is liable to end up off the stand cos someone will decide "it's a laugh" edited for the Guiness effect

That's a bit of a bugger. I wouldn't like to leave mine on stands on the street either. Ohh well I'm sure someone on here will know.
Assuming you meant 6204 (A mega common size) then that price is absolutely crackers! £5/6 tops for one of them even in a premium make!

Yep, sorry - 6204. I must be getting numeric dyslexia in my old age (it can't be the Guiness cos it's good for you, y'know ;D ) As for the price - youu can charge pretty well what you like when you're the only supply within about 120 miles It was for Betty's front wheel bearing and I needed it that day so postal wasn't an option.

You do - you sent one down for Isabel's clutch shaft which is the same . From the look of the driveshaft I think the knackered rear hub one will be bigger - would love to be wrong though cos then I could just get in an industrial size crate of them ;D

Autodata says to "prise out the seal then remove the bearing" but I think that's just their standard text for bearing removal I've ordered a rubber sealed bearing anyway (all of about 50p extra) on the basis that if there was a seal I can re-use the old one as a spacer .
