UK readers will probably be aware that every now and again, the DVLA auction off lots of unused "special" or unusual registration numbers. I've just seen their advert for the next sale in December. Amazingly, one of the numbers they are flogging is "DAF 665L". So, anyone with a 66SL out there?!! Start saving now.

Bizarre! Would be lovely, but I suspect it would be far more to buy than a car would! Does it give a guide price? At least this will be one DAF related object that won't go overseas

Well, it sold then - £400. Bit of a choker as all I could afford was £350! I wonder if anyone here bought it, or if it's destined to be stuck on a 6-month old 4x4 belonging to a school run mum who can't let everyone else think she's driving something that isn't totally brand spanking new. I imagine we'll find out in a few weeks when you can look it up at the RAC Inspections website or whatever! Not that I'm bitter or anything! I shall just have to drown my sorrows and put the money towards getting some new clutch shoes etc instead. Or a hydraulic motorbike ramp. For my hydraulic motorbike, naturally. Hard life, isn't it?!

So, come on, did anyone here win it?!! Or did a trucker, someone called Daphne, or someone from Wales win it? Or perhaps all three?!?!
No doubt we'll be able to check in a month or so's time when it's been transferred. But I'm just an impatient sod in my old age!
