:)There seems to be a problem at times opening the pulleys on the secondary units when fitting new drive belts. My solution has always been to put the car on ramps apply the hand brake and chock the front wheels front/rear so that the car cannot move.I then get a piece of timber 4"x2" and long enough to reach between a trolley jack and the "V" between the two pulley halves.I then chamfer the two 4" edges[about3/4"wide]at approx.the same angle as the V's.I then[ carefully]use the trolley jack to force the wood into the V which, using the weight of the car, pushes the two halves apart,it is then a simple matter of putting in the spacer, releasing the trolley jack and fitting the belt/s.WARNING the spacer needs to be of a type which does not allow your fingures anywhere near the space between the two pulley halves.I have used this method for more years than I care to remember!starider.

Sounds a good idea, I have always used the G clamp and old belt and a socket as a spacer, but may change it to using a spark plug as John does in the USA. Any one got any idea's when a belt break is about to happen???
Regards Bob.
