If anyone has any pictures of Tanner Motors in Charlton Road, Bristol please post them! It is a stones throw (almost literally) from where I live (and have always done) so would bring back some great memories. My introductions to DAF happened here. Only thing I have is a leaflet given out from 1973 which leaves a lot to be desired in today's politically correct times. "Fill up with service from one of our dolly birds" - I kid you not, it says exactly this, accompanied by a picture of a girl clad in the shortest shorts ever and certainly the longest boots. Maybe things were better in the good ol' days after all!  Hard to believe that that was 34 years ago now. I know time soldiers on relentlessly but I still can't look at DAF's and think of them as "old". I mean, the 32's I have were made at the same time as Mk1 Cortinas! Frightening. I now have lights in my workshop so progress will not have to grind to a halt this winter. Well, so long as I bring me gloves!!!! Best wishes to one and all! Howard |

Hi John,  there is some progress on the pictures, we have just found out how to convert old slides onto the computer, but haven't had time to perfect the images.The "boss" will hopefully sort them this week.PS I have just found a barn stored 44 with only 13,000 miles.I am waiting for the owner to move his other vehicles and "bits"so that I can get a look at it.It's amazing,we have lived here 7+years and it's only 1,000 yards up the road!! .PPS If anyone is interested in my tag, I was for 10years a motor cycle instructor for an organisation called Star Rider.
