That is excellent news. I'm very pleased for you. All you have to decide now is what colour it should be! I think a colour decision is a long way off. My current list of car jobs, in order of priority are: 1. Finish re-shelling the Mini, so we have our daily driver back 2. Sell Gladys 3. Use money from sale to tax and insure the 66 4. Actually drive the 66 for a bit If I continued the list of priorities then somewhere around point 137 would be the colour of the 66!

Right, time for a long overdue update. So about 6 months ago I was made redundant from my job in Bristol, but managed to find another job in Sheffield. So, it was time to move. It took a while to find a new place and get settled in, but after a couple of months I was able to go looking for some place to store the 66. After a chat with andrejuan on here, and a bunch of searching of classified ads I eventually found somewhere. It's a small single garage in a secure yard (locked gate, security cameras etc.) that's about 20 minutes from home, but only 5 minutes from work. The ever helplful howard arranged for a friend of his to trailer the 66 from his place in Bristol where it had been living up to the new place here in Sheffield. So it now resides in its new home: It's small, but dry and has light, power and access to water. I'm planning on a doing some work over Christmas, including changing the front seats for a set I have here, fitting an inline fuel filter (there's a lot of crud in the tank and lines), replacing some dodgy looking fuel lines and generally tuning up. So hopefully there will be more updates in the next few weeks.

Time for a long overdue update! No pics, but some progress. We've now moved from one side of Sheffield to the other. Our new place is much closer to the garage that the 66 is in, making it easier for me to get down there and do some work.
Today I spent a couple of hours working on the car. I got the new inertia reel seatbelts fitted to the front of the car. As a previous owner had fitted some in the back we've now got inertia reel belts all round, which is nice.
I also fitted a new seat cover to the rear seat so that it looks neater than it did before. The new front seats are also nearly ready to go in, at which point the interior should be just about done.
Lastly I added a fuel filter between the fuel pump and the carb. The car has spent a lot of time sitting around, so the tank is likely to have some crud in it. As I'm hoping to put the car back on the road in the next few months this seemed like a good idea to improve reliability. Especially as I recently had a fuel overflow issue in the Mini due to something blocking the float valve and leaving it stuck open.

So, it seems like life is going to once again get in the way of me owning and driving a Daf. For a variety of reasons the 66 will be up for sale shortly. If anyone on here is interested in a mechanically sound 66 that could do with a new paintjob please get in touch. Otherwise it'll be going on eBay in a week or two.

It is a shame. I'm not particularly happy about it, given the time, work and money I've put in to the car, but something needs to give and right now that has to be the 66. I've also had to reduce my general hands-on work on the Mini and have been selling off some of my stock of parts and tools. Maybe in a couple of years I'll be able to try again, but it won't work right now.
I'll put together a for sale ad in the next few days. At least I know that when it leaves me it will be in much better condition than when I got it.
