Last summer I advertised the exhaust manifold from my doomed turbo experiment on the Daf parts te koop (for sale) page on fb. After a short while I had three people asking to buy the manifold but having agreed to sell it to the first chap that messaged me I had to explain to the others that they had missed out. One of the interested parties, a Dutch lady named Irma was extremely disappointed to have missed the sale until we realised that it was her boyfriend who was the purchaser, without her knowledge! They were both trying to buy it for the same Daf that they own together and are restoring. Anyway, it turns out that Irma writes for the Dutch Daf owners club magazine, Variomatic, and she knew of my car wanted to come to England and meet me and my V66 to do a write up of the various modifications carried out. Irma and her other half Willem came over in October to see the car, unfortunately a wiring issue prevented me starting the car for the planned "white knuckle" ride test drive but we had a nice chat and a trip to a local pub to discuss all things Daf. A copy of the magazine arrived last week, the report looks great but I cannot read Dutch. Irma also sent me a copy of a Daf book as a thank you. Lovely people, I really hope to meet up with them again later in the year on our DOC grand adventure to the Netherlands in May.
