I had a stupid accident with my DAF 46 last sunday. Consequently, the front bumper has been damaged. The bracket holding it to the body on the right side is bent and the bumper itself is warped and the inner piece of metal (on which the bracket and the rubber side piece are mounted) got separated from the bumper (the welding points broke). As I have difficulties to find a workshop around that would repair it, I am trying to find a used part, good enough to pass the CT (french equivalent of your MOT) next spring. I am searching classifieds, and in order to find something suitable, I would like to know which front bumpers of DAF models are compatible with the 46 (width, distance between brackets, position of the bracket holes to secure it to the body).
Thank you Andrew . Yes this is what I thought: the front bumper on a 66 looks very similar to the one of a 46. With some patience I should find one within the next weeks (it is probably a rare item but not impossible to find).
however it is easier to drill extra holes then to fill them up eh? the indicator mounting flaps can simply be cut off with an angle grinder. i wonder whether our friend will find something in the scrapyard, last time i looked (ca 2012) no interesting stuff was left at the french breakers... there is a DAF Club de France, maybe they can help?
An update regarding this issue. I eventually found a metal workshop (not specialized in cars) that fixed my bumper. It just costed me 20 euros. I have re-installed this bumper: it is still a little warped, but that's OK (the rear bumper is also slightly dented, it was like that when I bought my DAF and I didn't care ). Just hope the new welding spots will not break...
By the way, there in no DAF club in France, as far as I know. There is a french DAF forum (lesdafistes.e-monsite.com/) but it seems defunct (no more activity for more than a year).
then they probably switched to FB too :-( luckily this forum here still exists. go tell everyone about it!
i am sure there was a Daf club de France (15 - 20 years ago) they were even featured in a french classic car magazine (i think it was a multi clubs meeting at Reims-Gueux). Also probably quit because of too low membership?

Why not come on the U.K. Daf Owners Club? we're organising a trip to Holland later this year and you'd be most welcome! Join the club for full details and it'll be a pleasant drive in your Daf from Brittany to Holland!

Hello dafix. I also live in Brittany and I have a 66 Marathon coupe. I know at least one other Daf owner in person and he knows of several. My 66 should be back on the road sometime during April. We could meet up for a coffee and chat. I also belong to a car club which meets on the last Sunday of each month at Lac Guerledan.
