Welcome to the DAF Owners Club discussion forums. These have been online since 2004 and are open to anyone - club member or not.
The DAF Owners Club has been the original and leading source of information about DAF Variomatic cars in the UK since 1980.
We are known throughout this country and abroad for providing accurate and relevant help and advice about DAFs and the Variomatic transmission.
We also provide new specialist spares including drive belts and filters and we supply to the UK and worldwide.
More information about DAFs and the club at the main website - www.dafownersclub.co.uk.
I notice that my thread about removing engine has a symbol that looks like an open book alongside. On a brief search I cannot find any others. What therefore is the reason and does it mean that I need to do something?
The open book symbol means that you have Bookmarked that thread. Whenever a new post is added to that thread you should receive a notification on your profile.
Thanks for explaining. I don't think I would have understood it!
And Starider, yes, (anti)social media... Interesting report in some of the papers today in light of the current crisis, that basically said that studies show that most people regard the majority of what they see on the FBs etc of this world, as being nonsense, irrelevant and not to be trusted.
Of course there are millions of people who do believe everything they see on there, but there is hope that they are still outnumbered by those of us who, even if we dabble in FB etc, treat it as a bit of light nonsense.
And judging by some of the "posts" you see on those sites, that sums a lot up! Still, some of it is good for a laugh - and boy do we need some laughs at the moment.
