Hello ....I trust everybody is keeping well. Does anybody know if a set of leather seats from a Daf 44 of the same year of manufacture would fit my 66 Marathon Coupe?

From memory (and it's over 40 yers ago..) the Daf 66 seats ran on sliders that were fixed to the floor of the car, whereas the frames of Daf 44 seats were attached directly to the floor of the car, with metal hoops in the floor holding the frame bars. I might be completely wrong, but this is how I remember it.

Thanks Andrew. Maybe the runners from my 66 can be attached to the 44 seats? I imagine the back may be more problematic?

I'm fairly sure that 44 and 66 runners and seats are pretty much the same.
Certainly if your 44 is a later one made when the 66s were being made, it should be a straight(ish) swap.
An example of this is that some people put high back 66 seats into 55s, which are the same as 44s.
And thinking about it, the 44 I owned until recently has 66 reclining seats in it.
Hope this helps.

Hi, Like Andrew my memory goes back even further, so couldn't give any definitive help.A question, and worthy of a check doesn't the coupe have a lower roof line? if so the seats maybe have a lower frame than the 44? I'm sure I maybe shot down.If anyone has a 44 and 66 parts manual, a check on part numbers may help.Give Matt at Essex Dafs a try. Several years ago I gave him all the DAF manuals I had...............starider

Thank you all. I actually have a 66 Richard. There is a chap not too far from me in France selling a set of leather seats which would glamorize my Daf quite a bit. They are tan and my car is 'inferno red' so a good compliment. I think they are worth taking a punt on and if I could not use them I am sure that one day somebody could. The only problem is that we are in tight lockdown at present so he will have to hold them for me. Thanks also for the coupe bodyline consideration and the Essex contact. I will let you know what happens.

Well I have reserved them for collection when lockdown is over so if they do not fit the 66 I will have a decent set of seats for a 44 for sale.

Hi.... My Dutch friend helped me out here and established that it would cost about 200 euros each seat locally to re-upholster i.e. 600 plus materials so with VAT pretty much a grand. He also found out from contacts in Holland that the seats themselves are pretty much identical though I may have to play around with the runners fixings. I spoke to the vendor yesterday who advised that the seats come with the matching leather door cards. Hopefully I can get those to fit as well otherwise I'll have tan seats with black door cards which won't be the end of the world. Now I just have to wait for confinement to finish so that I can go and collect them all. Thanks as usual for the advice.

You're getting there.
One slight pedantic point from me is that you refer to them being "leather". I'm sure that you realise that are not actual leather, they are vinyl.
The tan seats, though, do look really good and leather-like!

I did suspect that Richard. In any event they should look better than ripped up black cloth. Thanks.
