Lol...thanks Richard. Yes, the music suits the car I think.!! I have been busy doing a bit of bodywork jobs on the old girl. Nothing too much really but she did require a bit of fibreglass filler and a couple of localised paint touch ups. I had a good poke around underneath...all good. Just reapplied underbody treatment...wheel arches, sills etc. I know they are not historically correct but I fancied black/silver number plates. Haven't made my mind up on them yet! And ,yes...yellow headlights. A friend had a set of those cover things for the bulbs, so I put them on and the driving lamps are just cellophane covering. By the way, I still haven't figured out the driving lamps, just cannot get them to work. Tried new bulbs and messed about with the connectors/wiring/switches...nothing. Might need a new relay? And I still haven't got new tyres. There is decent enough tread on them but I think they are just too old now...easily over 10-12 years.

I think I've a set of yellow H3 bulbs if you want them! That should eb the bulb size for your spot lamps. You might want to change the arrangement so that the main headlight is yellow and the spot lamp is white, which would give you an extra powerful beam (when you have them working!) on main beam, but the characteristic "French" style yellow lamps when running around of dipped beam.
By the way, where was the video taken? It looks like Ashbourne-In-The-Water (but probably isn't!)

Great video. as I've said before I'm not a lover of yellow head lights. You need to check whether or not your car is old enough to legally have the old style black white/silver number plates. I seem to remember the cut off was around 1972/3. Probably would never be pulled up, but there's always the chance.

Starider's correct: Yours ought to have yellow and white plates and the black and white ones would fail the M.O.T. if I were testing it, but, as he says, there are bigger problems in the world at the moment. As to the headlights, fit 60/55 watt halogen ones in the big light units, and fit yellow covers, thus giving you a high powered lamp, with the yellow look!

Thanks for the comments guys. Yes, I am not sure about the black/silver plates. I like them but they are not period correct. I might put the original ones back on. I did do a bit of searching around, DVLA etc and it is apparently OK to have them on a car as long as it is more than 40 years old. (the rule changed recently) The headlights and spot lights are a bit of a quandary at the moment...just cannot get the spots to come on!! No amount of faffing will sort it. The only thing I haven't tried is the relay but I am not sure what to do. Might have to get an auto electrician to have a peek. Thanks Andrew for the offer of H3 spot bulbs. I might take you up on that when they work! lol.
The location is just around the corner from where I live. Knowsley Village, just on the outskirts of Liverpool.
Starider, I thought that was your van on ebay when I first saw the advert.

Hi, when was the van on ebay? If you care to drop me a PM I can suggest how you can test the spot lights. Tony.

Thank you for sharing the pic and vid. I have been looking forward to seeing her in all her glory. The car is a credit to you. Regarding the plates, I like them (I also have them on mine) It is a bit of grit in the eye for those who want period correct, but that doesn't bother me (it's close enough for Jazz) I remember the regulations changing and forcing us to use the poor quality and garish yellow and white ones. You can get nice ones nowadays but they wouldn't be period correct either. I never liked them or believed they suited cars as well as monochrome, which fits well with any car colour imo? The lights will be a simple fix I'm sure, just a case of finding the problem. Someone who understands auto electrickery will find it in seconds :-)

Look at relay and farthing wires from relay. Also check switch in centre console as they fail .
