Hello all, here’s a picture or two my new to me Volvo 66, just got from Graham having never driven one of these before it’s quite an interesting learning experience! - lots of me going “ is it supposed to do this / make that noise, or vibrate like that” all the best paul

Welcome Paull. They are a strange driving experience when you're not used to them, especially compared to modern cars. Mine always seems to be revving too high whenever I drive it after a long break of only driving a modern VW diesel but it's just very different. After a few miles I'm back in the Variomatic groove, driving it like a speedboat, lots of throttle (and therefore revs) to get up to speed then backing off the throttle as much as possible to get the Vario to change up to higher ratios to cruise. Do please keep us up to date on your experiences with your 66, this forum could do with more regular updates and if you haven't done so already join our excellent owners club. Steve.

Thanks Steve, I enjoyed reading about your car, it sounds pretty quick! Yes probably going to join the owners club in the new year. I’ve spent the last few days poking around in the car to get a better feel for it, and making a bit if a list of stuff I think needs to be looked at. Though at present I’m going to drive it about and get used to it more. Paul
