Just a warning to all owners ,nos parts are ok to use but be warned they have sat for many years so Engines Transmission units should be stripped and checked. I have fitted owners supplied units with instructions to just install without stripping as they are told they are new items although I have done this like many garages I act on owners instructions and take no responsibility for the items. As for belts and clutches again these are old items they will fail after all 40plus year old rubber and clutch lining are not guaranteed. PLAY SAFE ALWAYS FIT RECON PARTS THAT ARE GUARANTEED.

I 10000% agree with Dafman50. I got caught with a 33 transmission. Both secondaries and the primary had never been used, so I bought them. They had the storage black paint on the belt's running surfaces from Daf. The problem turned out to be they had been stored in a damp shed for 20+ years, and inside the vacuum chambers had gone rusty, so destroying the vacuum and centrifugal components. I never thought about looking inside first. I was lucky with the secondaries, and the primary's gear chambers, they all had the correct oil in them, and it was not too bad when I drained it. The oil had protected the gears, but there is no oil in the vacuum chambers, so no protection from the damp atmosphere they suffered in storage. They looked ok when I looked inside the gear chambers with an endoscope. But it was an expensive lesson learned...the hard way.
