While I was grovelling about under the 1970 33 I just bought I* saw why the exhaust was blowing a bit the whole rear bit including the resonator was hanging off , thiking this may be difficult/expensive to get I thought maybe parts of a mini system might do nicely I have one hanging in the roof of the shed waiting to go on a mini clubman I'm doing (far too many cars to do) so rather than use that one I thought go down to the local motor factors and get the front pipe only , when I got there carrying the rusty daf part they laughed ,I then asked if they could do me a mini front downpipe , they said no only a complete two box system ,then the manager came out ,who was more up on old cars ,,I think I've got just the thing,, he said and came out with a very long downpipe with useful looking bends in it ,the whole thing about 6, foot long or more anyway I cut it and joined it and it ends with anice little down pointing curve...the whole thing looks the same dia. as the original and there is plenty of it I have'nt fitted it yet so don't know how it will sound ..The part is a Datsun (nissan) cherry downpipe I got it from E.U.part nos. Walker 68-03538 or E.U. DN 38 P or Bellanger 7008 or Harmo s.U.3592 obviously this was old stock but some may have it will kkep you up to date on how this goes..Paul..kookie..

We've got a "straight through" pipe on Betty from the front resonator back and it certainly isn't loud - in fact, we struggel to tell the difference between her exhaust note and Isabel's (who has a "complete" system). About half of Betty's is actually a length of scaffold tube that happened to be a tight fit over the old rusted out bit ;D
