Not be outdone by our Essex counterparts, I've decided to do me own thread on what's going on in down here in the West Country, oo-arr oo-arr.
We don't all talk like that you know - although some would say I does.
Needless to say I will add to this thread as things change, and add some pictures too.
CURRENT POSITION:
Todays progress:
DAF 44 - installed new wheel cylinders, hoses and shoes all round. Full exhaust goes on tomorrow, and when everything has been replaced, it's engine tune-up time. It still cuts out for no reason. I reckon it's an electrical contact! Noticed it needs new front hub nuts - does anyone know if they are a standard size?
DAF 32LE - freed off front brake and drove it around for a bit. Runs terrifically well. Have decided to get it resprayed professionally and made perfect. It deserves it. Sod the expense. It keeps looking at me in a very appealing fashion, and I love it. The car, not the look!
DAF 66 Coupe - driveshafts nabbed off spares car and bolts used for the coupe. Nice.
FORD ESCORT TD - it's not mine! Sold it on eBay and it's gone. You'll hear no more about it - but its engine is going on a narrow boat!
HONDA MELODY - assembled from storage, put on new battery, rode it around a bit. Put it on eBay for 99p and will see what happens!
STRANGE YAMAHA TRIKE THINGY - was spotted by said Escort buyer who builds trikes himself. Looks like he wants to buy it! It's not mine either mind you, so I won't get pocketting the cash!
Will update things tomorrow as I can spend the morning with them... hopefully will get done what I set out to do.

I genuinely believe sod all - apart from a few wee things like the headlight bulb. I've got FOUR of these fellas and this one is the nicest, really. Most came courtesy of the scrapyard but this one came from an eccentric chappie in a village.
Most feel worn - this one doesn't. It WILL run perfectly with a wee bit of fiddling - and they are good fun. A bit tiny for my ample frame, I must admit.
There's no chain to worry about, and the steering feels taut - it's not been abused at all.
I ALWAYS start stuff I auction off at 99p. I love bargains like everyone else, and if I occasionally have to give something away cheap then that is part of the fun. I've had victories, and failures (including selling 4 new old stock Viva HB doors for 99p). Ouch!
Good luck with your bidding, but I've noticed recently that prices for these things have shot up a bit, so I'm definitely testing the water. Don't forget, I have two other yellow ones and a white one (although two have seized kickstarts) - but sadly, no others have V5Cs.
I really do have to get rid of stuff - I will surely have to move workshops soon, and moving cars isn't as much trouble as a sea of rubbish.....
I will be keeping the ex-Onne Union moped though - I adore it.

Funny how mopeds attract mopeds. I had an '81 Yamaha Passola years ago - slightly unrestricted it could do 45! and ate up those would be macho scrambler bikes for breakfast! (satisfying for me, embarrasing for them). When the exhaust did it's usual rust thing, I just picked up another later model for a while. Slower and heavier and the gear change up just wasn't in the right place. I used to like the noise it made if you freewheeled down a hill then blipped the throttle just at the last minute. Little things.........

Well, it's up to £45. I'm expecting £150 to be honest, with the way things are going, but I'll take what it goes for! I am going to have to move into a smaller workshop as mine has a very high roof and I am paying business rates on 5,000 square feet of air. Not wise. I might also be taking the plunge shortly and buying a place in France, although this is likely to be a "second home" for a while until things get sorted. Just trying to negotiate a price with the vendor. Not too much room for DAFs but I'll adapt as required or simply rent a place big enough for a few of them It will of course be open to cheap rental if any DAFfers wish to stay there - it's certainly wonderful trundling countryside. And there are plenty of car shows in the vicinity! Fingers crossed - we'll see how things go!

Hey, that's my dream too, except it continues into Amsterdam for the weekend and then hook of holland to norwhich on the ferry and back home. Go for it Howard, we'll be needing somewhere to stop off on the way!

Unfortunately, I'm looking for a place in Brittany, in the west, so not ideal for "on the way" visits to Eindhoven!
Anyway, some "not terribly good but glad I've found out sooner rather than later" news - the house, which has a garage attached to it, does not actually have a garage - as it belongs to the person who lives behind the property! A bit misleading that.....especially the "For Sale" sign is placed on the garage door as well as the front door!
It's simply not going to fit in with my long-term plans now so I'll be looking elsewhere....ah well. No enormous rush!

hey my mrs would want to come so the Amsterdam thing would have to be toned down a little ;D The key is to ensure your missus doesn't come!! Just tell her you'll all be in slow old cars with other petrol heads, talking Daf all day and chances are you'll be off the hook. I have been with the missus. She just drops me off at the nearest coffee shop then comes and finds me once she has done her shopping etc. ;D ;D

UPDATE:
(exciting this, isn't it?)
I really have to come up with names for my cars. I know I have the Jadella twins (if ANYONE mentions "Jadward" I'll punch them, I swear!), but I think that you only get an idea of cars personalities when you drive them and get to know them....
The green 44 is back on the ground after having all new brakes all round (hoses, cylinders, shoes, master cylinder) and they seem splendid now. The exhaust is going to have to be adapted to go on as the two rear sections don't mate properly (they are the same bore!!). Sigh.
Oh well - not as much frustration as getting the front silencer on, but thankfully that will not have to be done again for a good while!
The condition of the car totally astounds me. There is absolutely no play whatsoever in the steering, and all the rubbers around the doors etc are absolutely as new. The only down side, no doubt caused by its long reside in a chilly Scottish garage are very lightly warped door trims - but even so, it's hard to sit in it and think that it's 35 years old. It does have some light dents which I am going to get done professionally (hang the expense - it's worth it).....
Next it's the turn of the engine to sort - it still runs perfectly then cuts out. I think it's a loose electrical connection or even some fuel blockage. It will become clearer soon I am sure.
The Honda Melody sold for £195, which was spot on what I was expecting. That'll pay for 2 more days of Volvo man's services. Don't forget he has been doing work to my Saabs too and I now have a driveable 99 (and a 900 with a nice new water pump!). It's all good.....
The house without garage might still be a go-er. There's always ways around these things. I know I'd love to have a few DAFs over there but chances are I shan't be going there full time for years so I'll worry about that later! Other than that it's too nice to turn down.......
