Considering the state of some of our multi-storeys and station car parks, I expect some people, and not just women would approve of the extra lighting, and the extra attendants.
My Mother in Law hires a car when she comes visiting. The pick up point at Manchester airport is still a cliché when it comes to car hire places. Bad lighting - no one to tell you where the car is, staff who can't be bothrered and of course no instructions on where things are in the car. I can understand that they don't want to include the original manual 'cos people will just nick them - but surely it wouldn't be too much trouble to photocopy and laminate the page from the manual that tells you where everything is, and leave that in the car?
Mind you, at least the quality of the cars has gone up. I remember somebody hiring a Fiesta in the early eighties that only had one sun visor, rubber matting throughout and no passenger airvents. My memory has also twisted this so that it only had one windscreen wiper - but I'm sure it couldn't have been that bad!

Well, one thing is for sure and I'll admit it freely, I cannot park for toffee. I'm ok with the 33, but the Rover is so large and spaces have not got any larger, as someone on that article has commented. When my Rover was new it was a large car, now it's no larger than a Mondeo. I can quite comfortable fill a space at my local Sainsbury's and still leave it's @rse hanging out of the space! That's before I've managed to open the door enough to get out without wacking the adjacent car. If Mrs G and G Junior are with me though I use a mother and child space, I defy anyone not to park properly in one of those.

When on holiday last year we had a new mondeo hire car as our car had been smashed up for us. it was very tight in the multi-storeys and was bigger than the H plate 735 BMW we parked next to and that was a big car when new.

I must resolve to do the grocery shopping with my 33, no problem parking that in Sainsbury's puny sized parking bays. Once, that is, I've removed the contents of the boot, being: a pressure washer, a bale of toilet roles (don't ask, my parents do strange things when Costco's have a special offer on, we get plenty of strange gifts yet innapropriate gifts! : some seat cushions, a spare dynamo and starter motor, spare shocks, air filter etc etc. It's just amazing how much you can fit in the 33's boot! ;D
