hi all.
it is with heavy heart that i must announce the sale of my MK1 daf 44. as mentioned in previous threads, my back problems and operations have prevented me giving my daf the attention it needs and after some little b%$£^$d smashed the drivers window last week, i decided to sell. It is due to be collected later this week by another club member DUFFADAF, who has owned quite a few dafs in the past and is known to some of you.
i am now actively looking for a volvo 340 auto, as they do not have the "offset" pedals, and i could still drive one of these quite happily, and it would be modern enough to keep she who must be obeyed happy.
i will still be around on the forum and keeping an eye on my MK1.
Thanks for all the help and support I have recieved on the forum.

Sorry to hear that Paul, but if it's painful to drive it then probably for the best. Hopefully that 340 will turn up soon enough - I'm sure the whole forum will be keeping their eyes open for you

I think my friend has a white 340 vario. She's moving to Cyprus soon and wants to scrap it. If you are interested I can ask her about it. It's not perfect but it might come free if you can collect it. No tax or MOT as it ran out last August and has not been used since.

Best of luck finding a 340 soon and if you get 44 withdrawal symptoms and decide you want to go to a show in one you know Im not far away.

That's sad Paul. Duffadaf has bought a fine car there. I ocassionally suffer from back pain and I was wondering whether left foot braking would help alleviate that to some degree. I know it would be a little bit of mind over matter at first but with practice it would become second nature and no need to be constantly twisting my right foot and leg (hence back too) due to the height differential between Gavina's accellerator and brake pedals. I would first need to finsh sorting them out. Are there any other left foot brakers on here?

never use the right foot the brake no in any Vario even my 343, I know Dafdaffer does as well as it was him who started me doing it.

I used to left foot brake in the Bullet and the old 55, but since getting the 340, I've started to right foot brake, partly because the brakes are so much sharper on the 340.
Most of my motoring is done in a manual modern car as well.
And... like a lot of people, I have a dodgy back at times - now being one of them.

hi.
thanks for the kind words. daf has now been collected and is on its way to the midlands.
Veeruk. if you could find out about the 340 that would be great... if it can be towed on an a-frame it would be even better as i do not have a car-trailer or car powerful enough to tow one, but i do have an a-frame which tows lovely behing the galaxy.
i would certainly be interested. PM me if you find out anything please.

The Volvo has been sold on I'm afraid. I acquired it last August and gave it to my friend. She is now moving to Cyprus and had to get rid of it quickly.
