I now have more work to do. This one looks like its going to be a pain too!!
Went for a Maccy Ds with my godson and his family and when I went back to the car discovered that somebody decided to scribble all over the passenger door, with a key. One scratch I wouldn't bother about but this looks like toddler scribble. Again if it was on either of my cars it wouldn't be a huge job to put right. But no its on Mums modern that has metallic paint.
Really bored of this sought of thing now maybe I will wire the battery to make the bodywork live in future. That might put them off

Yep, they're unlikely to bother scribbling on the burnt-out hulk after you've shorted the battery to earth Besides, 12v never hurt anyone - you need 240v mains and a couple of megohm current-limiting resistor for that ;D

Ever touched a 12V electric fence Joe. I can attest it hurts. More so if you sit on it like I did or even pee on it like my brother.

Yep, but a "12 volt electric fence" is stepped up to about 2000 or more volts by the little box at the end. The little box at the end also either (a) limits the current to a non-lethal value (below about 10 mA) or (b) limits the pulse to an extremely short duration (a few microseconds) in a similar way to an RCD. 12 volts simply isn't enough to break your skin resistance, which is why you can quite happily grab hold of both terminals on a car battery without feeling it even though you can melt spanners on some of them. You can even grab one and stick your tongue on the other (if you don't mind licking lead) and it won't feel much worse than doing the same with a PP3 battery Edited to add a 0 to typo on current value. For future reference for anyone who feels like plugging themselves in, 1mA is just perceptible, 10mA is painful and above 50mA or so is potentially lethal. On the other hand, someone who doesn't already know that probably doesn't know how to safely limit the current so please don't go plugging yourselves in to test it - it's just not worth the risk. Note that even 1mA can be fatal if it finds a direct path to your heart

Sadly Paul there's two things you can do about it - you can either put up with these things or run away. You won't get any help from anyone, and it's pathetic in this day and age that with all our collective genius people still do such idiotic deconstructive things.
I hasten to add, as most of you know, I am planning to run away - but to be fair that's something I've always wanted to do and not wholly related to the density of nutjobs in and around Bristol. I was faced with the threat of being stabbed last Wednesday although I attributed this to the person having a bigger mouth than brain, although naturally it's safest not to stick around and find out!
None of us should have to face needless vandalism or selfish loutish behaviour, although it would be nice if you felt more supported instead of being another inconvenience when you ring up to report an incident......
