Hello all. Ive been registered here a while and have been lusting after a Daf for many frustrated years. Ive always been into my Volvo 300s so i thought combining the two loves might be the most sensible option. ;D When a 1988 340 Vario came up local, a nearly choked on my pie. SOLD! Its solid where it counts but a bit rough round the edges. Saying that, its been very well cared for and came with a full MOT. My taste may not be everyones (I like stickers and accessories). But I always take care of my cars and they alays leave me in better condition than they arrived! Im not looking to spend a lot of time and money restoring this one to classic standard form, Im just lookung to maintain it and have fun! Pics, as pics are cool: Decided to fix the gouge/scratches down the drivers side. Gouges be gone! There, I fixed it. Auto coolness. And a special kick down switch. Volvo history: Volvo 340 B14 Manual Volvo 360GLT Volvo 360 GLE Cheers all. Im enjoying the CVT goodness so far, long may it continue!

Welcome. "Bjorn" here. Like the scrappage sticker! Crazy wasteful spiteful scheme, that was.

Hello and welcome (again) too. I must admit, I had a hand in sorting this one for the MOT. Must rename the operation from Dublin DAF Centre to Flying Car-Doctor. ;D And sterling work you did too dude. Much appreciated. And chris, you cant leave a 340 languishing mate. Wheel it into the light.

Once i can get the delica 4x4 sorted, the 340 will be transferred into that garage, and then the work can start

That's nice, it's good to see somebody doing something that little different. I especially like the plasters over the scratches, very honest!

I dont have the skill, or the money to fix the gouges (take more than a touch up) so I thought Id do the best I could with the money I had. = stickers! ;D The car always raises a smile, and thats what I was shooting for really. The retro car scene seems to be either about A) restoration and conservation or B) having fun. I try and walk the line. I enjoy driving it and I enjoy looking at it. For those who cant drive it, I hope at least that you dont hate looking at it.

Ok, 0700 hours and off to McDees to meet a fella coming off night shift. What a way to spend a morning off work. Parking fail. Please insert Wood and Shinyness to Continue. Also tried to improve the Grille by adding more blackness. ^ can you tell what it is yet? Internal improvements continue. That looks a bit scabby. There, thats better. soz for the rubbish pics. I also seem to have a slip of paper inside my headlight. How queer. sm4 all. Next - Linseed oil on them grey bumpers!

looking good, you do like to clean your car. You can come and do all mine next. Not really man. Ive cleaned it twice since I got it. But the first job was litterally a 4 hour labour. And I have changed the seats/wheel which may help.
