Nice! I love old beemers, sometimes regret letting my 535 go. That looks like an interesting project, welding that front wing will keep you warm on the cold nights.

Ohh, had an S plate one of those back in about '91 as a replacement for my long-lost '72 2500. Lovely way to travel ;D

No john still got the pony and have a project lined up for the rusty 66 shell.
Still have the 55 coupe but i think Dafdaffer wants that in the future

stefan is that thing still a pickup on teh v5 though as the regs have all changed and if tis an unfinished one you have little hope of it seeing the road . . . (ace advice on RR did a massive thread about this) or is it a real pickup??? does look incredibly well done

No problem Nick the V5 was changed in 1994 the cut off date is 1997, the conversion was done in 1984, it was on the road upto 3 years ago

Out of interest how did Starider get his saloon to pick up 33 conversion road legal. Oh and what sort of tests will John have to put aero through?

No idea American rules are diffrent to ours.
Maybe starider has not changed the V5 or it slipped through the net I know of some that have

Interesting thought there for the people stuck with these conversions - would it be possible to get them registered overseas then "import" them to get round the screwed up UK system? ?

think that there was a cutooff date in teh uk.. if a conversion was done before a certain time and had been regged again then its all good... its only new builds now that have to go through the wringer, get forced through the bumhole of the dvla and then crash tested against nuns and kittens
