They were coach built 'separate' (but approved) conversions weren't they? Rare as Hen's teeth surely?

Done by FLM panel craft back in the day, Went to see about getting a resto project one of these about 3 years ago from a man just outside Ashbourne (He had three) 2 V8s and a 4 pot, they were all rough but he would not take less than £1750 for any of them so I left empty handed.
Same man also had 87 landrovers on the same bit of land he rented of a farmer, said he was going to export them to africa

I saw the end of that auction and it looks like it was sniped at the last knockings, £2,611 if I remember. Well bought but still miles of my radar price-wise. But yes, the V8s! Yes, photos please guys, it may even cheer me up!

Yes, a Rangie would suit well, especially with a tow bar. Basically anything with a V8, such as a nice 5ltr TVR.....my alarm clock will go off soon Paul and I'll have to stop dreaming...

Not quite in the same league as a Montego Countryman TD (the one car I would happily swap / sell Sheila for!) but someone decided that luverly Perkins diesel was too old to put in a new model. bloomin' marketing departments..........

Why is it that the 1.8 PSA Diesel can sound so rough in the Rover? I've heard a few now that just haven't sounded as sweet (for a D) as they did in the Visa Leader we had, or a friend's 205 when new.

A friend in the trade had a recovery truck a few years ago with a Perkins diesel. Sounded lovely but no turbo and wasn't really happy above 50mph...

When I was Newsagenting in the early nineties, you could hear the John Menzies Maestro vans from a couple of miles away!
Mind you, the last generation Transits weren't much quieter.
