33 Pick up has now running and has fresh MOT. So I can drive to the next DOC meeting (when and where?) Well done and indeed we look forward to seeing your pick-up. To answer your question re when and where the next event is, what a shame you just missed out on last Sunday at the Great Central Railway meeting, where we had a really good attendance - some pics on the site. Final dates of next events have yet to be decided, but it is quite probable that we will have a New Year lunchtime get-together in January. This tends to be in Derbyshire. Details will appear in the club magazine, or may well sneak onto here. Watch this space! Otherwise, there will be the AGM in April on the Notts/Derbys borders, I hope we will get to Stanford Hall again (perhaps in May, but not sure yet) and watch out for news of a potential seriously exciting week-long event to take place in August (that could well involve several dozen DAFs)

The pick-up is unfortunately messed about with by the former owners so a lot of 'repairs' had to be undone. Everything I touch needs repair, restauration or replacement. Even the glovebox interior is broken.
The body is still a nightmare but after fitting a new clutch, propshaft, inlet manifold, heat exchangers and heater ducts, complete exhaust, 4 new tyres, a petrol tank (specific part for van/pick-up) and a new ignition lock it started and I could drive away. For the MOT it needed welding in 7 areas. After a proper service I can even state that it drives very nicely and the variomatic is working fine. Electrics are OK and the heater works fine. I once manged to drive 67 MPH! Scarry It had new (!) rear wings fitted at some stage but very badly done. The dealer sticker is still on the back but they are probably irrepairable now. Shame really as they are no longer available.. Apart from the body panels I have managed to obtain most parts; good seats and doorpanels, all chrome moulding (5 of them new), 2 complete decent doors, a bonnet and 2 new complete rearlights (£££,€€€ or $$$). I have got hold of a good instument panel but unfortunately the wrong model with 2 instrument in stead of one. Rubber floor mats are impossible to find (anybody?)
My intention is to drive it for a while to see what goes wrong before a full restauration of the body.
John, I have a wooden floor in the cargo space of my pick-up; is that original?

Same here; born in Utrecht. Moved to the UK in 1995. Pic of my Dutch registered 1976 DAF 66 Coupé in 1990 at the 10th anniversary exhibition of the DCN. Had my first DAF in 1978 and I have been member (No. 008) of the DCN from the start in 1980. Groetjes!

Sorry for the long silence.
Rocketman's 33 Pick-up is nearly ready and photo's will soon follow.
I will most likely visit the Pricethorpe event (9-16 Aug) here in the UK.
