As long as the images are hosted offsite (like on flickr / photobucket or your own web space) they won't affect the DOC, Graham. Basically, when someone opens a thread with pics in, all the forum software does is send a link to where the picture's stored (in your case above at farm4.static.flickr.com/3058/2435196238_58ba50c273_m.jpg ). So each picture is just a line or so of text to the DOC. Why lots of pics seem to cause slowdown is because the computer opening the thread then has to get all those pics from elsewhere - and they're usually big files! Best advice to avoid slowdown is to resize any pics you're planning to use on a forum to around 640 pixels wide before you upload them. That makes sure they'll fit on a page, without making it mega-wide, and makes them a lot faster to load as well. Even if you put a lot on a page at that sort of size, people will be looking at the first ones while the others arrive on their screens

Ooooohh the coupe! Oh why did we lose so many? Good luck with the resto. As John (Yankee) says, there have been a lot worse to sort - he should know!
And well done for getting pics/pic links up. I still struggle and as mentioned on the 44 thread, it gets me confused and my blood pressure up at times.

Everyone is so positive, that gives me hope for my 66. It's got quite some rust which I thought it would get a fail mark for from the MOT. I MOT'd Little Belter (Simon's old 33) and it passed with flying colours. I think he just wanted it out of his workshop lol. It was driven OVER the brake tester as it is in front of the MOT bay. He tested the brakes outside on his forecourt and it actually skidded. Never expected it to do that.

hi im sure youve seen worse and it looks pretty good in the ebay shot but it looks pretty bad to me considering i have no previous experience, the guy who sold it was fairly honest and it was listed as spares or repairs. however now the filler has dropped out both wings, doors and rear quarters are pretty shot, not to mention all the welding underneath. ive included a pic of one of the wings to give you an idea. i will post some pics of the progress but i dont want to uncover it today as the weather is a bit bleak

Easily fillable on that wing, Graham - just remember to buy the bulk pack Seriously, are you planning on welding in new metal or filling for the non-structural stuff? If the latter then all those areas will bridge ok with fibreglass (but get woven cloth rather than chopped strand if you can) or mesh and filler. Expanding foam is just nasty ;D

hi i hadnt thought of expanding foam one of my favourite house renovation tools along with gripfill. i will probably fibre glass the two smaller areas as ive done this elsewhere but the pic dosent do justice to how bad the area closest to the door is, i think new metal is they only way forward as the rot goes into the cills as well.

don't worry john. you will be pleased to know that i have NOT used expanding foam on my daf. i must admit i have used it on van rear doors before now, especially the bottom seams where they tend to rot out. good for soundproofing on vans as well. keep up the good work graham. paul44
