So, am I right in my vague presumption that you can't get new windscreen seals?
Only poor old Jejy leaks like a sieve and that, I'm certain, isn't helping the rotten floor.

Hi Kate Maybe worth a word with your local windscreen replacement Company, The last chap who sealed my front windscreen on the 33 said they can still get the molding and the plastic chrome inserts but they have to order them in. Worth a try.
Bob.

Cheers. I'll ask my local window place as soon as I get it back on the road. Can't very well take it there with no floor... I don't think the seal's actually had it, I just want to check that should it not come out in one piece that I have a hope of getting a replacement to get it put back in - especially given that I don't have a garage! While we're at the window related questions - the chrome/metal decorative strips around the windows (particularly on the doors), are they a brute-force-and-ignorance removal item, or is there some cunning trick to it?

hi Kate, I had removed windscreen before the car was resprayed last year and found both bottom corners of windscreen badly rusted and nothing wrong with rubber seal. Unless its perished. I have only changed a few seals in 30 + years of DAFs. Paint on your daf seems KOBINA > ICI < same as my 55 can be bought in Nth London ( Capital Colours) 5 mins ace cafe. Eric B

hi jate ive just stripped my doors for respray, if your talking about the chrome around the top and sides of the door around the window ie. attached to the door itself and not anything else then it is a case of brute force they are just a very tight fit. graham

I have always left the trim in when reoving windows as it is very hard to fit back in.
