I am going back to Coventry to pick up a newly repaired and MOTd Gladys. I will be driving back the scenic route this afternoon and will put some pics up our roadtrip when I get back.
Anyone driving on the M6, M54, A5, A438, and A470 between 16.00 and 19.00 look out for a bright green DAF.

Wrong!!!! cheaper by recovery truck. Seriously now we got to within 10 miles of home and the offside rear suspension has collapsed I hope its the shock but I think its probably the spring will take apart tomorrow and find out which part or parts I need not too worried as I have it home and can work on it and have 5 months to get it right.
p.s. are there any other parts that might have caused this and what parts fit and does the club have a stock of them.

Photos as promised At the top brochure pics? Heading to the mountains On our way have just crossed the border The aftermath this is confusing me because it has rissen up substantialy after unloading and there appears to be no damage to the spring. Pressing down on the rear wing of the car causes it rebound me thinks shockabsorber good and it passed an MOT yesterday!!. looks normal. ride about 5cm up on what it was though this has taken about 1hour to rise. sorry didn't get pics of break down leg or how bad it was although tyre rubbing on top of wheelarch only on one side would give a good idea

well thats strange and to your answer not really, the supension has always been really good. does the arm look ok? thats about all i can think off? did yu hit a big pot hole or speed ramp i suppose that the shock absorber could keep it down but i used to carry a heavy tool box around in it and it was fine? any problems shout up

have a theory when Mums mechanic came out to fix the Land Rover he had a quick look the car is now completly normal. He reckons that the oil in the shock absorber overheated coming over the mountain, this of course would have made it go thin causing the said symptoms and when it sat the oil cooled and thickened hence now working correctly. He also said that this was probably caused by the car working hard coming over the mountain. I think I should replace the shock anyway as it having overheated once it will have weakened and be much more liable to do it again.

I have a magic daf!!!!
When I jacked her up to change the shock absorbers they unstuck and now work perfectly. At least I have spares for the next time they stick.
