I guess Canadian elf n safety guidelines for working on cars are a little less stringent than elsewhere? ;D

Oh my word. Im not sure what was more worrying his jacking method or the actual welding pure idiocy here. This is the sort of thing I would expect from Jeremy Clarkson

He does have a point though when he said cars only blew up in the movies.
I remember seeing Mythbusters trying to make a car explode by shooting a petrol tank; nothing happened.
I've also seen a lit cigarrette dropped in a tank, it just goes out. The vapours are far more dangerous than the petrol in liquid state.

Yeah, the tank welding is (relatively) safe - although, from the lack of leak I would have thought it was more vapour than fuel left in that one. As for hanging it from a hydraulic bucket by a chain.....

That reminds me. I have noticed some smeg on laminate flooring that I was storing behind my back axle. Thought it was underseal as the daf was treated to this at some point, hence the sun strip in the windscreen with a viking (he has the word 'Dinitrol' on his shield). That's why my underside (and that of the Daf!!) is relatively rust free. Rock an Roll! God bless that little viking. Ahem, yes where was I? The smeg was accompanied by a petrol smell and closer investigation has found a leak by the fuel pipe exiting the tank (covered with lecky tape, the remedial action of choice by previous owner(s). Think I'll use some tank weld stuff on it, although I do have access to a fork lift truck....
