Hi!
Unfortunately the ignition lock in my volvo 66 has broken, the key goes it but it wont turn. After seeing two other volvo 66s with replacement ignition switches ( one car has it for the starter motor only and the second had the whole unit replaced with a key switch on the dashboard.
Ive tried to undo the plug connecting the ignition switch to the wiring loom but with no joy.. in the end I cut the wires to 'hot wire' the car to get it going and plan to fit a new switch somewhere else in the dash - so it looks original....
however, it would make it easier if I could remove the binnacle as the plug is located just behind it... at the mo I had to reach up into the dash whcih is a bit uncomfy...
Neither Haynes nor Autodata manuals comment on how to get it out....
Anyone done it or got a manual which details it from which they could post me photocopies? I'll cover the cost and postage...
cheers guys!!!
Shimon
