That's a very lucky find. To have a Daffodil in the UK is really quite remarkable now. Very similar to the 33 but note the "plusher" seats.
Well done.

Thanks for that ! I didnt realise what model Daf I`de got ! As im new to daf`s as a hobby - Im a full time carer for my disabled father and Daf will be my " stress therapy " " Daf " is a D plate , one lady owner , with tax disc`s , all receipts , 14,497 miles , she attended the " Crown Daf Convention "in 1968 and came 2nd - winning a radio fitted by the dealership ! I would love a part number for 6v battery. and she needs 4 tires ! ..she has stood for 8 yrs ...but am hopefull of getting her going soon ! Any Daf specific advice to getting her fired up would be great !

i fit the MGB 6v to my dafs and find them ok.
clean the points and check for spark, fuel down the carb and turn over i would advise running from a bottle until tank is flushed.
how long has it been since she was started?

What a great find - well done that man!! The only advice I can think of, well not so much advice, is that the clutch linings may have separated from the shoes (they were only bonded on), but you won't know until you've got her driving. If you do find that it's an engine out job but that gets quicker every time you do it! ;D Fingers crossed and best of luck. There's always good advice here!

Thanks for the advice guys ! Daf`s not been driven or started for 8 years since the owner became ill , the owner moved house 4 years ago but couldnt bare to be parted from Daf , so she paid £300 to have her transported ! The original tyre`s have perished so will need 5 x 135-330 x13`s soon !

It might be worth trying these people. I have not had any dealings with them, but their adverts are interesting... Sorry it's so big but I can't remember how to make the pics smaller.

Betty has 135/80 x 13s which were available from at least two local (not national chain) dealers around here. Most of the available ones seem to be in budget brand at around £25 - £30 per tyre but, for the performance of a 33, they're absolutely fine. The ones on Betty are branded "Event" I think (a Dutch tyre company, not the same afaik as the Midlands based mobile fitting service). It might be worth getting the tracking checked at the same time because they do tend to scrub the fronts quite well if it's out - as we found out going through a front pair in about 9k miles Backs have done about 13k so far and are still looking good for probably the same again. At that price you ain't going to get Michelin mileages though!

Yep, but check olut the extras you pay for (mandatory valve / balance + disposal of old one +usually only applies when buying 4 + VAT). Adds up to around an extra tenner a tyre usually.
Compare that to last one on Betty from our friendly local tyre place: £27.50 fully inclusive, and bought as a single. And they threw in a free bit of old exhaust (+ 2 free U bolts!) so I could patch the Triumph's exhaust cos it was blowing when I went down for the tyre (fitted to Betty's spare wheel)
