Just to let you know that if all goes to plan, Practical Classics will be featuring the DAF 33 in their "Datafile" feature in their April issue.
I believe that this hits the stands at the end of February. The DOC should get a mention as well, and the pics may just feature a familiar 33.
(Usual conditions apply: i.e. subject to last minute change/space etc)

Thanks Simon. Not seen it yet as I buy mine over the counter, and they are not in the shops for another few days yet.
And we must really thank Practical Classics for their interest - and their guest editor who really made this happen for us.

Thanks Richard, that's very kind.
I wasn't going to let the opportunity go to waste and I made sure most of my favorite classics got in (although unfortunately they wouldn't dedicate the whole magazine to the 70's and 80's in case it alienated part of the readership, which I can understand). You might have guessed that I also own an SD1 (off the road whilst I undertake my V8 conversion with the assistance of my land rover mechanic friend) and I have also owned an X1/9 and an Opel Manta - ahem, not that you would know from the magazine...
Seriously though, thanks for the great pictures Richard, I am pleased that they went for the blue bullet rather than archive photos (but I do like the reference to "pulling the birds"!!) and I am pleased to help if it raises the profile of these fun cars and the owners' club. Now, if I can only get round to having my 33 back on the road for Princethorp......

Agreed, Pete - I bought my copy today, and it didn't just cheer myself up but my dad (whose identical blue 33 started it all off for me years ago). I'm ordering myself some clutch shoes from Danny so I can get it all back together and take my dad out again - it's been off the road for about two and a half years now. Not good for me, the car - or my dad!!!!

Yep, another fun-filled day at the workshop. Not long come home, very tired - but very satisfied. 66 Coupe now running splendidly thanks to Starider's advice to check that the pipes are all attached (one wasn't - I would have noticed this when putting it all back together, but I didn't think it affected things that much!!!).
Fitted engine mount to red 33 using splendidly shaped spanner set I bought for those awkward-to-reach places. Engine will be cleaned thoroughly and shoved back in. Marvellous.
Will be nice to get them all running again! Guess where I'll be tomorrow??!
