It looks super and remember, even if you think it might not be as smart as you would like in reality, it is still alive and on the road - and belting along!

I remember fondly the few days when I borrowed her from Matt as I was carless at the time, she was such a sweet driving little car and certainly the best that we've ever passed on. She might have a couple of scabby bits but she still holds her own against most other DAFs.

Goldie has been resprayed and what a difference, she looks factory fresh. The photos don't do her justice. You could just jump and dive into the paint its so deep and fresh. She looks a million dollars. Chuffed to bits and hopefully she will be our wedding car! I have some spare Terrana if anyone needs it too!

She's looking very good indeed Joe. Who'd have thought that some 5 odd years ago she was sat in a fire brigade compound waiting to be used for practicing the jaws of life? So glad she got a second breath of life.

Joe that looks terrific !
I am so looking forward to the day I get mine back from the bodyshop.
In the mean time I have finished all the mechanical stuff, just bits and bobs left that I am only doing as an excuse to tinker really ;D
So many Daf's getting makeovers at the moment it's fantastic.

Thank you for all your kind comments! I've already spent far more than she will ever be worth on her, but who cares? I ain't selling this Daf ever. Honestly she looks brand new now. The only thing that was slightly letting her down was her wheels. Well that was sorted out yesterday. I came back from work at about 2pm and got to work with my wire brush and a can of wheel silver in the baking heat Done! At least they will look a lot nicer in any wedding photos. They will bubble up again in the winter no doubt about it. But unless you get them shotblasted and sorted properly they always will! A few pounds spent in Halfords worked wonders!

Hello all. It's been manic recently. And I'm very sorry I didn't make the Lincs Weekend. Everything in life seems to be happening at once. The good news about all this is that we are moving and the place has a garage! So I will have a place that is at least dry to store Goldie. The bad news? Well I saw this yesterday. Needless to say I shouted every single four letter word you could thing of. Good job we are moving really.

know how you mean about spending more then they are worth.. im into about £3500 with Gina and counting but I wouldnt have it any other way.. sorry to see shes been marked.. I had a piece of steel stoo on the driveway after welding up Joes pug 405 and I forgot about it, the wind blew it down the flank on Gina so I know have a massive zig zag across her osr quarter so know how annoying it is

Faultless wedding car, faultless day. Now there are a few little issues to report. But now the big day is over I can start to tinker without worrying that I'm going to ruin Goldie's chances of being a wedding car! More to report later!

We've been looking through the Wedding photos and realised we haven't got a single proper wedding picture of Goldie. The day went by with such a blur I can barely remember!

I've been trundling about today back and forth around the houses. The Daf in general I find is far happier and far more fun as a city car in stop start traffic than on a long run. Though the belts need sorting. One of my now wifes mates husband is into Land Rovers and says he knows someone with a barn with a four post lift so that might make life a little easier!

deffo the belt, Gina is the complete opposite, far happier stretching her legs on a big run.. maybe the vac valve has been set for town driving rather than distance, dont ask me how to change it though as I always get it wrong.. dafdaffer is your man

Aye I would love to pop round, just let me know. Got to get a new belt first actually. I shall have to email and ask. Bolsover is on my way to and from work anyway at the moment so I suppose I can get one pretty quickly! And I will definitely take that back seat off you.

I will do. Lots of daft work stuff still going on, but I did get a little bit of time today so I thought why not take Goldie out. Unfortunately the cold and the wet meant we needed this Which did the trick. Whilst having the bonnet open I noticed this which is probably why the heater isn't working too well!
