:oIwas e-mailing my 42 year old daughter the other day when I remembered something she did when she was nearly 5.I had decided about that time ,that as I worked for a DAF Dealer I ought to own and drive one myself,so I purchased a second hand DAF 32 from our garage. It was parked one sunny day in my parents- in- laws drive[luckily a long one] when I heard the DAF start up and begin to trundle off down the drive with my 5 year old daughter standing behind the wheel.Luckily she couldn't reach the throttle pedal, but had started the car with the choke out "just like daddy does it",which gave just enough throttle to move the car.I was able to catch up the car, reach through the open window and switch off. MORAL--put the hand brake on and remove keys when kids around, also remember kids take in more than you realise. starider.

Ha ha Tony. When I was young, I did exactly the same to my dads DAF 44. I can't remember it as I was too little to remember. Apparently, a wall stopped my short journey behind the wheel. It was just embarrassing when dad brings it up again in front of all the family at reunions. Now, we can have a good chuckle over it.
