What amazing weather for the 1st November - warm and sunny.
Ideal conditions to get the Volvo 66 out for a couple of pics - before it went on a long journey.
To be continued...

And on a not so sunny day - Arrived!
Yes the V66 is now in Eastbourne - a bit rainy today, but hey ho.
Ran very well on the 200 miles from Nottingham to Eastbourne, apart from a small alternator issue, but no oil or water used, and he certainly belted along very well indeed.
Here he is, slightly damp, meeting one of his new big brothers!

Lovely!
Even on the darkest, wettest and dullest of days, that shade of yellow just does it!
(Today, well this morning, was soaking torrential rain here - that would not have been a lot of fun)

I do like a nice bright V66! Congratulations Graeme, she looks an honest car and a great colour.

This picture was taken of Richard and I with the V66 as we chatted before I drove off yesterday! We both noticed this guy had stopped to snap the car as he walked past.
A friend of mine spotted it on another classic car site - our fame spreads apparently!

Good heavens - that is quite spooky really!
It was a slightly surreal moment - I was just talking to Graeme about the controls etc and we both became aware that a passer-by was taking a photo of the car. No problem with that of course. I shouted out to the chap "that will be 50p please", and we all had a bit of a laugh as he wandered off.
Do we know what the other site was/is?
By the way, just to confirm to all that I am very pleased that Graeme has this Volvo 66 now. He is a true Volvo enthusiast - has (from memory) a 440, a 240 and an XC90, and has previously had a Variomatic 340. I think it will be a good home - near the seaside too (although hopefully not too near the salty stuff!)

It is odd that that very picture has turned up via a circuitous route! Shows you what the internet is like eh!
It was from a facebook page called Spotted - Cars you Just don't see anymore.
For absolute completeness, the Volvo Fleet now comprises: 1975 66GL, 1978 265 GL, 1996 440 GLi, 1997 965 CD and 2003 XC90 T6 AWD. So yes, bit of a Volvo man overall!
I am planning a full restoration of the 66, although this won't be finished until the spring at the earliest so be patient with me!
I must again thank Richard for passing this car onto me, I'm very, very happy to be able to Belt Along! Graeme

A few moments after that pic was taken, Graeme headed off. I then ran (yes, ran) a couple of hundred yards to the end of the road knowing that due to the one way system, Graeme would have to pass by. And I snapped this with the phone:
