Hey all again! I tought this would be much better place to put some pictures from my daf project.
I can give you a some background about this car what i know and how this project got started. I used to drive concrete truck for a year becouse here aint much work to do for painters, but the job was awfull and i didn't have time to be even with my family so i decided to quit. One evening i was sitting at computer and looking for cars if i could find something i could repair and sold to get some money. Not long i found this beauty and it was only 10km away from my home, in mniddle of the woods front of old barnhouse. i called owner and went to look car and in 15mins i bought it. seller told me that after i have paid, 3 other guys called in 1hour so i was quite lucky. (or someone could thing i was insane to bought this).
About the daf history as i know, this car was first owned by the sellers uncle who bought it at start of 60's, but at year -72 car went in to a crash and they but it aside to wait repairing. Sadly that owner died before he managed to do repairs to car and the project moved to first owners brother. New owner wasn't so into but car back to road so it standed at same spot till the 2007. Then owners kid bought this from his father to a project for himself. and it again standed at same spot till 2016 when i bouight it and i think now it is time to bring it back to life.
I had some time to remove 1 or 2 things and last evening i spended more hours and got interior almost removed. Painfull work when every bolt is rusted and doors was so damaged so parts inside was really hard to get out.
Theres gonna go a lot of new metal, but gladly it wasn't so bad i was dreaming. i still have templates wich help me to do new parts.
I also got engine removed
next step is going to build a frame inside the car so body dont collapse when i start to cut floor panels. and i need to straight up the passenger side so i need to do place for a small jack to adjust the widht of doorplace. Maybe i have some time at weekend but theres customers project waiting for some paint. But if i have time i remove rims, straight them and sandblast them, i really need tyres under car soon.
Does anyone know what color they used on rims? i tought to use aluminium paint but if someone knows the right one i still have time to change my mind.
