Dear All,
Daf 33 ownership has its traumas! I was sent forward this morning (much in the style of Captain Oats at the South Pole) to obtain extra jars of Sainsbury's Chicken Tikka Masala for our New Year's Day party. Upon jumping back into the car I noticed the low ratio hold button was lit (it hadn't been before I parked ) and it wouldn't stay in the "off" position. I drove home a distance of 3 miles keeping the button pushed in but in spite of twisting the switch & generally fiddling with its I can't make it stay off. So, anyone has one for a 12 volt 33 I'm ready, willing and able to hand over cash! If you don't have one I'll approach Dafhobby
P.S. I've TEMPORARILY wedged the switch off using a matchstick! I still need a new switch, through!

Andrew, have you tried Steve? If not, must be worth a go.

Thanks all of you. I've tried the WD40, amazingly to no avail. I'll email Steve for advice. In the meantime, a Happy new Year to all!

Hi, you'll probably find the plastic inside the switch has deteriorated through age.If you cannot get the correct switch have a look at Vehicle Wiring Products...www.vehicleproducts.co.uk....page 53 in their catalogue, push-on,push-off, with LED, Ref:69054 Green. Not sure what size hole is in the 33 [the one as above snap fits into a 20mm hole]. I'm sure one of the above can be made to fit [only 3pounds58p]...........starider

Problem solved with the help of Mr. Bidwell, of Bolsover. Before the switch arrived I simply disconnected the green wire that energised the low hold solenoid so that I had very little engine braking when slowing. As I moved off again the belts always seemed to be in the right ratio for starting, so I don't think I've done any damange!
