Someone has hit and run my DAF 😟
Looks like they were trying to turn around and reversed into the front passenger wing, just behind the bumper.
Before I put a claim in on the insurance, which I'm pretty sure they'll write it off and scrap it, is it possible to get replacements? And are they welded on?
Was going to get the clutch changed as that had gone before Christmas, but I'm losing faith.
Cheers.

The wings are welded on, not a massive job to an old school body repair shop..... you drill out the spot welds and the wing pops off. The DAF weld areas are accessible. You can get wings, I managed to find 4 front wings for mine. It will be interesting to see what the insurers decide, although I have known DAF's repaired on a number of occasions.

Thanks, I'm not going to go through the insurance, I want to get it back on the road ready for the show season.
Where should I look for a new wing? Might put a thread up on Essex DAF's forum, I've had a peek on eBay.

Hi I got mine from Dafhobby. At the time I couldn't find any nearer. Matt now has lots of panels so he might be a good first port of call. If you struggle in any way, let me know and I will let one of my spares go if it keeps another on the road.

Sorry to read of your difficulties. Another thought re front wings is to go a bit "left field"... By that, I mean brand new fibreglass ones. Many years ago, I know one or two members got replacement ones from a company called Honeybourne Mouldings. I've just looked them up on the interweb, and they are still very much in business and still list DAF 66 front wings. Here's the link - honeybournemouldings.co.uk/frontwings.html
