This young lad, who lives near to me has just done a review of my 66. I thought he did a great job...really done his homework on the history. Great to see a young lad with a passion for old cars.

A truly informative video, which doesn't denigrate Dafs, as most motoring blogs do! Accurate and interesting-thanks for posting it!

Yes, the young man is only 20 and he knows his stuff. Loves older cars. He is local to me so I asked him would he like to do one of his reviews and he was most eager to do so. Have a look at his youtube channel...it's called 'Twin Cam'.

Brilliant vid. Well done Twin Cam man. I exchanged a few words on a forum with Steph. from "I drive a classic" the idea being for her to do a road test on my DAF 66. Covid restrictions put that to bed for a while but one day, hopefully, it will be arranged.

Yes, Steph does great content too. She likes quirky stuff.
Ed, the guy from Twin Cam presents really well. He's a natural. Not everyone can be so articulate on camera. I thought he did a great job. I did provide him with some information for his script, but hats off to him.

That was very good indeed. Had to smile at the black vinyl fixation!
But well done.
Oh, the rev counter... the one fitted is indeed an aftermarket one - probably from Halfords. You could, back in the day, get a Volvo badged one and it would fit in one of the blanks in the Volvo centre console.

Thanks Richard. I wasn't too sure whether the rev counter was a factory option or not but on reflection it really does look like an after market job. Yes, I know about having a rev counter and temp/vacuum gauge in the centre console. I would really like to get them done one day. Just add them to the growing list of bits and bobs to be done.! lol.
He did a fine job on the video I thought. Nice guy and very knowledgeable for a young 'whipper-snapper'!

A lot of love for the 66 on youtube! 55,000 views in 2 weeks and loads of comments. Brought back a lot of fond memories for a lot of people. Great for raising the profile of our lovely little cars I thought. I have a few mad ideas for a few more videos...lol, I do like a bit of nonsense! Maybe a bit of reverse racing!. A lot of the Dutch youtubers remember when they used to do DAF reverse racing on the old Zandfoort circuit years ago (mid 80's). And whilst doing so, destroyed shed loads of lovely little DAf's!!!

Wow, that's a lot.
Looking forward to your other ideas.
Er, speaking personally, may I dare suggest not to do reverse racing?... It gives some people the wrong idea and it was indeed tragic that so many were destroyed in the name of entertainment. Also, if you go backwards quickly for too long, there is a danger of overheating the transmission. (i.e. lack of cooling airflow that normally comes through the little grilles in the front bumper.

Ed Twin Cam certainly did a fantastic video of the Daf, and has added another YouTuber to my regularly watched list of car YouTubers!
