hello, my name is Arnaud, I live near Poitiers in France. I am 32 years old, I am a painter, body repairer and collector. I bought a 1972 daf 33 last year, with 7500 original kilometres. I have other cars, rolling or not, ami 6 sedan club 1969, 205 roland Garros cabriolet, ami 6 1961, and dsuper from 1973 I will share some photos with you.
To come back to my daf, it is in perfect condition, the technical control has just been successfully passed, after a stoppage since 1984. I am in the process of doing the paperwork to register it, but I cannot find the serial number of the engine. If anyone can help me here, I would be very happy.
The engine number of a Daf 33 is stamped just behind the starter motor, on the horizontal part of the main engine block. As yours is a 1972 one, the number should start "B74E" followed by a number. The "74" indicates the engine's size is 746cc and the "E" indicates the engine is an "environmental" one, adjusted to reduce emissions. (I don't know what the "B" indicates.....)
Hope this helps!

You're looking in the wrong place. You need to look on the main block of the engine, at the point where the starter motor is bolted to the block. The number is on the top of the engine block, in front of the horizontal inlet manifold. If you PM me your email address I'll send you a picture of the number of the engine in my 33, if this helps!
