I hope not! However as I was faced with refitting the fuel tank in my 66 I discovered I was short of several hands to fit the tank and the fuel line before it all fell down again. Reason for the task was that the pick up tube had come unsoldered and was only picking fuel when the tank as half full. Fixing that was easy. After one failed attempt I just grabbed some long bits of 8 mm threaded rod about 200 mm long and threaded them into the captive nuts. I ran a tap through just to clean the inserts. Then I have simply hung the tank from them which leaves an adequate space on top to get your hand up and fit the connecting tube between the tank outlet and the pipework which heads off to the front of the car. Next step was to slide the tank up, and replace the thread rods with the bolts. Yes I did put some copper grease on them first. While it was all out I fitted nutserts where the self tapper screws which hold the cover over the sender were. Another cover now sits above the fuel pick up so that I can readily do the jubilee clip on the joiner tube. Now I guess someone will tell me that this appears somewhere already I thought I was being innovative!

Thinking "outside the box" or, in this case, the fuel tank, is an excellent way of solving problems!

That's an excellent tip, can't say I've ever heard of it before.
