Well done, Bob. It was good to see you, and thank you for traveling such a long way - must be 200 miles if not more? Likewise to the Everitt's from Whitby - similar distance.
Sadly, that was it, apart from Steve, Maggie, Winston and me.
It was lovely weather. The pub was excellent as always. Food delicious.
We'll soon start thinking of future events and plans, and are also aware of the logistics and challenges facing people.

Apologies! I HAD planned to attend, but life, in the shape of two small grandchildren, stepped in and I hope both the committee and other readers of the Forum will accept my reasons for not attending. Family has always come first with me, and always must. I've managed to attend all the previous events at the Crispin and I really like the venue, but this one was just not possible. I hope you all had a good time!

That's OK Andrew and Rhys - all understood.
Rhys - this might surprise you, but, especially at various times of year and types of event, people tend not to come in their DAFs!
I felt sorry for Bob because he had also booked an overnight stay in a hotel. Hopefully though it was a pleasant weekend away.

It was good to meet the few who did come, and the Crispins food was delicious, with massive helpings! Too much for me in the end, I will remember that for next time. A hotel B & B with no B ! Did not spot the small print on the ad that said "no food" until it was too late to cancel. Not even a kettle for tea/coffee ! Turned out it was a private house where the owner took in 2 guests at a time for a sleep. At least the drive there was ok, but the return was horrendous. There was a hold up on the M40, and the diversion did not work. I sorted my own diversion on the TomTom, but it was a long way around, almost to Cheltenham (from Silverstone) and then part of the M4 was shut.
