I Have now come up with the solution, i had an hour spare at work the other day so i made this the base is magnetic and it sticks to the dash, bonnet, roof whatever! the results are good as well as i tried it out earlier! i hope to use it when we meet up at princethorpe in august i couldnt find any suckers which would hold it tight enough. thats very true i think that the old plaggys would struggle (i would love one though) and yes the rear quarter panel may be a bit of a challenge!
i didnt see your click here bit on the suckers, only thing was mine was free ;D £40 odd quid may get the divorse moving!
i got upto about 30 and the camera was still on the bonnet, its mainly for inside filming so the mrs dosent have to hold onto the camera wobling all over the shop!!

I think Paul deserves a special mention and note of appreciation for his videos. And what a great piece of engineering re the camera mount. I am really impressed - and how fab to be able to clip it outside the car. Top Gear next?
Anyway Paul, your comment re "not having anything better to do." Er, you soon will have! *knowing look etc that will keep folk guessing*...
