On ours, the hydraulic switch seems to have been disconnected at some point and (presumably) replaced with a mechanical one to the pedal. Haven't looked for it yet, but the pressure switch has its terminals snapped off and the brake lights still work so it's been replaced with something!
If it's any help I can have a dig next time we're down there and get photos of how it's been set up for you.

Hi Folks The switch is a standard hydraulic brake switch, Morris Minor/mini. Or R S components do a hydraulic switch which can be used, it is a normally open type and adjustable, quite commone to indicate that the system has pressure.
Regards Bob.

Just searched on that useful info, Bob, and they're also available here (in UNF and metric) .... www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/182Having a look round, the site also has various 6v goodies including 6v halogent headlight bulbs with P45t bases. Now they have to be worth a thought!

Did some other 33s have non-hydraulic ones? Any half decent motor factor should be able to supply. Haven't seen any reference to an "official" non-hydraulic fit to a 33, mac. Ours has the hydraulic one in lace but disconnected so I'm assuming someone replaced with a mechanical at some point. As for "half decent motor factors" - this is Anglesey, as far as I've found we have Halfords and one small local in Bangor or a drive to Wrexham or Chester! Must be some closer, but haven't managed to find them yet

Thanks for all the comments.I will see tomorrow if the "old" position for the mechanical switch is still in my 33.If not I will check the thread on the switch and get one from my local motor factor. starider.
