Never mind the 1970's oil crisis the one now is nasty. I have a 30 mile round commute every day and have started using the '44 to do it in as I can do it on 15 quid of fuel instead of 60 quid of fuel in the big Volvo (worse in our v6 ford)
makes a difference on the pocket!!

$3.80 per US gal? And you're upset at that? We're on about £4.20 per USG - roughly $8.25 - and something like $5.30 of that is tax! We agreed a price for taking Sian's teenager to university back around christmas cos she doesn't like trains - worked it out on cost of fuel at £35 (she pays one way, we pay the other). We're collecting her in a couple of weeks and it'll be closer to £47 as prices are now. That's one hell of an inflation rate for 6 months!

hi all.
petrol prices are getting really silly now. I am glad i have got the daf as it is so cheap to run.
I seem to be getting just under 40mpg from my 44 (round town and on a run) which i am quite happy with. Does anyone know what the book figures were?? It would give me something to compare with and see if there is room for improvement.
thanks
