hi ive restored the door pillars for my 55, completely rotten in places due to the window seals being shot, anyway does anyone know of a good chrome spray ive yet to come across one, i would get them rechromed but ive used quite a bit of fibreglass to repair them, i have considered tin foil and then a coat of clear laquer, anyone got any more sensible ideas. alternatively i will just paint them black. i could have got a pair from danny but out of my price range im sure there worth every penny if your going for concours im aiming for tidy. graham

Never seen a chrome spray that gives a real polished finish. Humbrol do one that's not bad (you can actually make out a reflection but it's a bit hazy - more sort of plished aluminium effect), but it's for indoor decorative use & don't know how well it'd cope with outside - especially on a car. They also say it's not suitable for overcoating with laquer so can't protect it that way. Having said that, I've picked up a can to see what I can do with the wing mirrors on ours but they're a little easier to replace than door pillars if it's unsuccessful
